Salmon spawning in the River Dee.

The film broadcast last night on BBC 1 showing salmon spawning was excellent. Now what was really eye opening was the fact three whole days were spent filming to produce this edited clip. Astonishing to think how much time is spent creating a one hour nature film. Here’s the link with salmon footage at 34 minutes 40 seconds into programme. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p01dflmb/The_Great_British_Year_Autumn/

Here is a clip from Iceland that is worth watching which was filmed a few days ago and sent this morning. Its shows quite clearly why male salmon have a kype. They are in the biting business-and then some. www.visir.is/…/article/2013131019493
