FishDee welcomes Upper Blackhall Beat

The delightful Upper Blackhall beat has agreed to join FishDee this season and Ken Reid spent an enjoyable afternoon meeting proprietor Simon Michell and his wife Deborah, beat Ghillie Raymond Sinclair and his son Jordan. Simon has been a passionate supporter of conservation work and was one of the founders of the Middle Dee Project which saw a number of beat proprietors and volunteers work tirelessly to assist the River Dee Board in trying to restore the River Dee to its former glories.

Simon was in great form yesterday and had the pleasure of catching 2 opening day springers in the morning. He talked about his many years fishing the river and his strong beliefs in salmon conservation and some notable red letter days ! The beat is opposite Cairnton and Woodend and has approximately  1 3/4 miles of sublime fly fishing water. The beat has its own website where people can find out more about the beat and the super accommodation available for anglers to rent. The beat has a large volume of repeat tenants returning year after year to fish the beat but does have occasional vacancies arising which will appear on FishDee in due course. Meantime I’m delighted to announce that there are 3 rods available each day for the next fortnight at a very attractive £50 per day. Anglers looking to fish Upper Blackhall during the next fortnight should contact Ghillie Raymond Sinclair on 01330 822183 to book fishing.
