Heavy Overnight Snow

snow 2

Following on from a persistent fall of snow overnight and into the morning the River Office staff battled into work on tricky roads.

Eight of us spent the better part of 3 hours clearing the small car park and driveway leading to the main road of snow but as quickly as we were clearing it was settling. There were people gritting and people clearing and it was clear the snow was falling at a rate of about an inch per hour. There’s bound to have been a good amount of snow depositied on the mountain tops and the skiers will be delighted whern the weather clears. It augurs well for the river if we have a big reservoir of snow compacted onto the mountains and a few frosty nights will help considerably.
